Current challenges in personal tutoring and the role of data as part of the solution

During the UK Advising and Tutoring (UKAT) 2023 annual conference held at Swansea University on Monday 3rd April 2023, Dr Rachel Maxwell, Principal Advisor (Academic, Research and Community) at Solutionpath held a joint round table session with Professor Michael Draper, Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor Education at Swansea University and Izaak Morris, Student Union Education Officer at Swansea University. This discussion was around current challenges in personal tutoring and the role of data to support student success.

During the session discussions were held around topics such as:

• How institutions are using student engagement data
• The benefits of using data
• The role of demographic data in determination of risk and the provision of student support from personal tutoring.
