Wonkhe and Solutionpath have partnered to create a unique opportunity for Higher Education institutions that aims to draw links between insight and practice.
The Solutionpath community are invited to join an Action Research Group to surface and promote emerging good practice in using student engagement analytics to support student success.
Wonkhe editor Debbie McVitty said, “We’ve done some fantastic work with Solutionpath over the course of the pandemic and we know that making the most of student engagement analytic data is priority for many university leaders thinking about post-pandemic recovery and the future learning environment.
This action research group will grow our collective understanding of the journey that universities are going on with uncovering the uses of student engagement analytics to support student success in many different contexts.”
The group is open to colleagues from partner institution using StREAM who have a research project in process or are looking for an opportunity to build one in this field. The scale of the project can be large or small, but it should have the potential to generate interim or final findings in the form of a 1-2 page case study by Summer 2022. Participants will benefit from a supportive forum to share ideas and progress and the opportunity to be included in articles drawing insight from the project published via wonkhe.com.
Michelle Craig, Head of Marketing is supporting the initiative on behalf of Solutionpath and comments “Although there is already empirical evidence to show the effectiveness of using student engagement data to support student success within our user community, we recognise that the use case has evolved in recent years and that there is still so much to learn in this space.
We hope that this initiative will help to share insight that will inform best practice and help universities to better support their students in reaching their full potential. We are thrilled to be working with Wonkhe on this project and to be able to offer this unique opportunity to our users”.
The project is designed to encourage a range of research proposals to focus on student engagement and success in a wide range of areas such as, demographics, retention, attainment, wellbeing, student, and tutor enablement. Research proposals are currently being accepted with the view to conduct a first meeting in December.
Debbie McVitty adds, “We’re excited to have the opportunity to work alongside the pioneers in universities who are building the evidence base for effective data-informed interventions to support students and we look forward to sharing the findings with the wider HE sector and Wonkhe readers.“
There are six places available in total in the project and four confirmed so far. If you are interested in taking one of the remaining places and would like more information, simply email insights@solutionpath.co.uk.
