Digital Engagement Learning Analytics (DELA) as a valuable tool to enhance the student experience

The university joined the Solutionpath Community in January 2018 to better understand, and improve, the learning experiences of their students using Solutionpath’s StREAM, a Digital Engagement Learner Analytics platform

Solutionpath are the team behind StREAM, a Digital Engagement Learner Analytics (DELA) platform that combines student engagement and learning data from systems such as the VLE, library, e-resources, journals and printing facilities to establish behavioural baselines for students and quickly spot changes that indicate disengagement.  

DELA is particularly valuable when teaching at scale, or online, as it can be challenging for staff to understand how their students are learning. York St John University (YSJU) will use the solution to analyse patterns of behaviour and if necessary, intervene early to give students the support they need to fulfil their academic potential and have the best student experience.
